This site has been a dream of mine for years. I’ve had this URL and have been writing on it sporadically for several years, but only recently have been starting to share it with friends.
One of my friends is a legit movie reviewer but isn’t super into horror (yes, Roy, it’s you :P). He mentioned how cool it would be for people who don’t share my proclivity for supernatural scares using the site to find palatable movies to watch. It gave me an idea.
I’ve come up with a scoring system that factors in scares, gore, intensity, and trigger warnings for an overall score that helps viewers decide what horror movie to watch (or skip).
There are two ways to use it:
- Take the quiz on this page: it’ll spit out movie recommendations that I’ve reviewed.
- Search for ratings using the Movie Search tool.
Now, this applies to adult horror. I also have a kid-friendly toggle that’s good for 16ish and under you can find on the movie search page.
