Combine on, no one's home

This scene freaks me out for some reason, and maybe because I grew up in farm country.

It’s not long after the baseball field scene. We’re at a farmhouse, and the mom and young son are looking out the window worried about dad. Mom goes out in her bath robe to see what dad’s up to.

She heads to the barn, where the gigantic combine is one and churning. She screams at him but there’s no reply. Mom gets into the cab, but no one’s in it. She turns it off, now sitting in the only light around. While she’s searching for dad, she hears her son scream. She runs back to the house where he eventually finds her (jump scare).

They hide in a closet (ummm). There’s some tension as the dad wanders before jump scaring the two with an eyeball through a keyhole. The dad takes a gas can and dumps gas down the stairs, eventually setting the house ablaze with his family inside it.

You only hear the moms screams as the scene jumps.
