Character Notes
Ben Richards is an upstanding guy in a society that expects complete compliance. He’s without a job because he stands up for his fellow man. But his kid is sick, and the fake drugs they can afford aren’t working. He refuses to let his wife work more at a seedy club, so he signs up for The Network’s casting call. He does so well (is entertaining) that the head of The Network convinces him to sign up for The Running Man, a TV show where you have to survive 30 days of people and elite hunters trying to find and eliminate him.
He seems like a sweet guy, willing to put his life on the line for what’s right.

A hooded Richards is seen by his wife standing outside the supermarket in a hoodie. He survived.
