Do NOT watch this movie with the captions on.

Made that mistake, and well, I knew the twist. I could have moved past it if not for the pretty typical “I’m trapped in a house scaring the shit out of myself” stuff.
Also, I was just weirded out by all the age difference dialogue. They played it up…for what purpose? Just to make him seem like a creep?
Upon my “[movie] explained” search*, I discovered the screenplay was based on a book. This makes sense: there are some books better left to books. It would have been better had they just played it as a more traditional haunted house movie.
*If I have to Google an explanation, I’m already lost. (Though there are, of course, exceptions.
Recommended for: Kevin Bacon lovers*, people who enjoy recreating what an endless house could look like, and those who get surprised when the ghost turns out to be the same guy.
*But at least wait till it’s free. That’s hours I could have been watching Flatliners.
