The Midnight Club: Clock Strikes Zero
I love me a good Mike Flannigan mini series. I’d watch it even knowing it sucks. And this one kinda does. But it’s worth watching before shit gets culty. Only some of Flanigan’s mainstays appear, mostly in the oral stories these terminal kids are telling in the middle of the night. It introduces some news ones – ones I hope appear in future series. My favorite one being Anya, played by some Tik Tok star, apparently (Ruth Codd, a right British bitch!). Another delight is Heather Langencamp. I was prime age – 3rd grade – when it came out. I watched it enough as a kid that I vividly remember scenes to this day. The great thing about this movie is they know they’re making a sequel. It gives you the backstory of the Sanderson Sisters, one that makes you like them a bit more. There’s no Thora Burch, but the cast is filled with POCs, probably in big part to Bette Middler…
